What the brand claims is that effective by nature, this moisturizing lip stick, with Honey and Sunflower, softens and relaxes the damaged lips or dry at any time of the day. They experience more tightness. Ultra-convenient format.

Price : $9/ INR 550 for 4 g.

The packaging shows the detailed list of all the ingredients in this balm but I liked the fact that the main ingredient was Honey and that got me interested in trying this product.

The product comes in a nice plastic packaging. It is small and compact. Most importantly it is basic and convenient. The tube inside is of a very peculiar shape which is something I have not seen in many lip balms. Most of them have the flat top. This one is like a lipstick bullet. I find it very convenient to apply and cover the entire surface area nicely.

Coming to the product itself, it has a very mild honey fragrance which I really like. The lip balm is not the most moisturizing one I have used but it is not the worst either. Once applied, it lasts for about 5 hours on me which is very decent. Even after 5 hours I do not feel that I need to instantly reapply. However I do reapply after meals etc. Even though it is just 4 g tube, it lasts a long time hence I do not mind paying a little extra for this balm. The only thing I wish this lip balm had is some SPF for the sun protection but I make up for that by using another lip balm with SPF on top of it.

I had read some reviews before I purchased this balm and there were mixed reviews on this product. Many people compared it to the Nuxe's another lip balm which comes in a tub packaging and said this one is not as good as that one. But the formula of both is different, hence making these two very different products. I do not see the need to compare the two products. I am glad I picked this one up.

This lip balm is my go to lip balm when I am outside the house and is always in my purse. I have repurchased this a couple of times and will continue to do so in future. I will definitely recommend this lip balm. This one gets a Thumbs up from me!

The Body Shop White Musk Chiffon Sheer Body Mist : Review

I have been using the TBS White Musk Chiffon Sheer Body Mist for quite some time. Read on to find out my views on this product.

What the brand claims is that this is sensual White Musk fragrance in an all-over body mist. The lighter version of the Iconic scent unites notes of musk with rose, jasmine, amber and wood. It contains cruelty-free synthetic musk.

Price : $15 / INR 1095 for 100  ml. However I always wait for their Sale to get this at a discounted price.

I usually apply this body mist as a perfume and sometimes as a deodorant. It has all the notes that are my absolute favorite in a fragrance i.e. Rose, Jasmine. The result is quite pleasing to my senses. The body mist lasts around 4 hours on me. Even after that there is residual pleasant fragrance lingering for hours.  

The spray comes in a glass bottle. The bottle is sleek but I do not like travelling with it. The spray pump sprays just the right amount of mist every time I apply it. The bottle is definitely not travel friendly but I usually use it straight after the shower so this bottle is always on my bathroom shelf. This is my 5th or 6th bottle. I really go through them very fast so I also stock them up during the sale season.

If you are someone who likes a subtle musky scent, I would say give this one a try. The Body Shop has a wide range of body mists but those all are too flowery for my liking. This one is my all time favorite. The fact that it is also cruelty-free is just cherry on the cake for me. I would definitely recommend this body mist. This one gets a Thumbs Up from me!

Maybelline New York The Colossal Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara : Review

I picked up the Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara from the Maybelline New York Colossal Range. Read on to find out my views on this Mascara.

I am pro waterproof Mascaras. You never know when it might come in handy. I mainly tried this mascara because it is a waterproof mascara.

The product comes in a plastic packaging. I quite liked the packaging as it is small and compact. It is also travel friendly. The mascara wand and the brush is nothing special, brush is quite big though. Here is another zoomed in view:

I usually apply this mascara after curling my eyelashes. I first apply one coat, wait for it to dry and then apply a second coat. It does give decent enough volume to my eyelashes. However, it also makes my eyelashes clumpy. It dries very fast so after a while it starts to flake. It is heavy on the lashes and I feel like I am carrying a lot of weight on my lashes. The mascara is hard to remove but if you would use a very good oil based Eye make-up remover, it will come off easily compared to if you use a Bioderma or any other Miceller water . I also find that a couple of eye lashes fall after I remove this mascara.

For me this mascara did not work at all. I do however know a lot of people who actually like this product. It is a drug store product so it is very affordable and easy on the pocket. For me, the falling of the lashes was a real huge scare so I am not going to be repurchasing this mascara.  This one gets a Thumbs Down from me!

Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Skin Whitening and Brightening Nourishing Night Cream : Review

I never really understood the whole concept of having a separate cream just to apply at night. I would usually just apply my day time moisturizer if my skin felt dry at night. I happened to see this Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Skin Whitening and Brightening Nourishing Night Cream at a department store and thought of trying it out. Read on to find my views on this product.

What the brand claims is that Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Skin Whitening and Brightening Nourishing Night Cream is a technologically advanced triple action formulation that contains rare fruit and plant extracts which nourish and lighten the skin, overnight. It reduces dark spots, dullness and the appearance of pores . Corrects uneven skin tone and improves skin moisture balance. The result: fresh, radiant, fair skin when you wake up.

Price : INR 375 for 60 gms.

The cream is off white, almost cream-ish  in color. It also has some fragrance which I am not very fond of but its not extremely irritating either. I usually just scoop out little bit from the pot with the help of a clean spatula and dot it all over my face and then spread it in circular motion. The cream gets absorbed in the skin in absolutely no time leaving the skin very soft.

The next morning my skin definitely feels nice, smooth and soft. However I did not see any of the other benefits that the brand claims like reduced pores, brightening and lightening, after applying this cream. It is really disappointing to see the product not delivering what it claims to deliver.

I have used the Micro Emulsion from Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Skin Whitening and Brightening range and I liked that product. I thought I would like this one too but sadly that is not case. I would not be repurchasing this product and I would recommend you skip this one too. This one gets a thumbs down from me.

Travalo Classic Refillable Perfume Spray Atomizer Gold 4 ml : Review

I am one of those people who wear perfume daily. I also like to carry perfume with me at all times, in my handbag. I used to carry my big perfume bottle everywhere with me. I would have carried on with that routine for my entire life if I had not come across the Travalo Perfume spray atomizer. My life has changed since then. Read on to find out my views on this product.

The way this product works is pretty simple. All you need to do is remove your fragrance sprayer, attach Travalo's bottom to the top and pump to refill.

Once you have filled the Travalo, you can just throw it in your purse, Jeans pocket and carry around with you. I have traveled with this numerous times and it has not leaked even once. I carry it in my Cabin handbag when I am flying and there has been no spillage. However, I do advice not to fill it completely, I usually fill it till about 80% level. One refill lasts for a week, at times more. 

I have to say I was not a 100% sure about the functionality of this product before I bought it. I thought rather than investing in Travalo, I could get a roller-ball of my favorite perume and travel with that. But roller-balls are not the same as spray perfume. I would over apply the perfume with roller-ball often. Investing in this product was definitely a good decision that I made. This is worth every penny. The bottle comes in many other colors. I chose gold for my first Travalo. My Travalo has Armani's Acqua Di Gioia in it. I would definitely recommend Travalo to every perfume lover out there. This one gets a DOUBLE THUMBS UP from me!!

Uriage Bariesun Stick Levres SPF30 : Review

I picked up the Uriage Bariesun SPF30 lip balm. Read on to find out my views on this lip balm.

What the brand claims is that this Bariesun Stick Levres SPF30 effectively protects lips from the harmful effects of UVA and UVB rays, while restoring softness and comfort. Water resistant. With a moisturizing base enriched with vitamins A, C and E as well as essential fatty acids, the stick nourishes and restructures lips.

Price: $17.57 for 4 gm stick.

The reason I got this balm was that I like the brand Uriage. They have really good quality products. Also, the balm had SPF 30 which is always great to have in any skin care product. The balm is quite light and does not have the sticky feeling. There is a subtle sheen that you will have on your lips when you apply this balm. It is not very long lasting but is water resistant. I do reapply it at frequent intervals. 

I do not find this balm moisturizing enough during winter time. So I apply my more nourishing balm first and then on top of that, I apply this balm for sun protection. During summer time, just applying this lip balm works for me.

Even though I have been using this balm, I will not be repurchasing this. I feel the primary function of a lip balm is to provide nourishment and moisturization. On that front, there are other lip balms out there which do a much better job than this one. If your lips are in perfect condition, not chapped and hence do not require intense moisurization, you would like this balm. Otherwise, you are better off skipping this one!!

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia EDP : Review

I never leave home without applying perfume. I always carry perfume with me in my handbag as well. I have been using the Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia EDP for quite a while. Read on to find my views on this perfume.

What the brand claims is that Acqua di Gioia is a hymn to nature in all its forms. It is a clean, incredibly fresh, aquatic scent that is ultra approachable, yet memorable.

• HEAD: Begin with a "mojito" inspired sensual blend of crushed mint leaves, warmed by brown sugar and mixed with the zest of Italian Limone.
• HEART : Feminine floral notes emerge with joyous hints of acquatic Jasmine, dew of Peony and subtle traces of pink pepper.
• BASE: Its signature Mediterranean trail is rooted by the hearts of cedarwood and Labdanum.

I first discovered this perfume when I was passing by the perfume section of a department store. The SA asked me if I would like to try it and I was like NO. I was using Gucci Guilty at the time and I thought I would never find another fragrance which I would like as much as the Gucci Guilty. But then it occurred to me how rude I had been to that SA by saying no straight away so I thought I should just try it once. I mean what did I have to loose. I knew I was not going to buy it. So I tried it.

I roamed around full day that day and when I came home that day, my mother and sister both asked what was the fragrance I was wearing. I then realized that it was this perfume. It lasted a full day. I liked how it was not overpowering and was so subtle. It was fresh, aquatic and quite feminine and mildly floral.

I went back the very next day and bought the 100 ml one. I started wearing this to work everyday. I got so many compliments on this perfume. My colleagues, both girls as well as guys asked what was it that I was wearing. I guess they wanted to either buy it for themselves or their partners. As for me, I absolutely love this perfume. This is now my signature scent. As you can see I am almost finishing this bottle so I went ahead and bought another 100 ml bottle. 

If I were to describe this in one word it would be CLEAN. I feel perfume is something very personal to each individual. What works for one person might not necessarily work for another person. But I would definitely recommend you go and try out this fragrance and then decide for yourself if this is for you. This one gets a Thumbs Up from me.

Clinique Kohl Shaper For Eyes in Shade 201 Black Kohl : Review

I am always on the look out for a good Kohl pencil/Eyeliner. If ever, I am running late and have only a couple of minutes to get ready, I just put on some Kohl, Mascara and lip balm and I am out of the door. I picked up the Clinique Kohl Shaper for eyes in shade Black Kohl. Read on to find out my views on this kohl liner.

What the brand claims it to be is that this Rich, satiny eyeliner glides on smoky or defined, bold or superfine. Triangular, ergonomic design provides precision control. Sharpener's built into cap. Never be caught with a dull point again. Ophthalmologist tested.

Price : USD 16.50/ INR 1,290/ 1.2 gm

When I swatched this liner at the Clinique counter, I loved how smooth it felt. It glided like a dream. It was the blackest of black liner. So I instantaneously made up my mind to invest in this liner. I got excited to try it on my eyes, the next morning I put it on before going to work. In just a swipe I got the perfect line on my lower water line. The shape of the pencil is also very different than the usual liners. Its triangular whereas most other liners come in a cylindrical shaped pencil. The Sharpener which is attached to the cap of the liner comes in handy as well.

When I reached office that day in about an hour, I was shocked to see how my face looked. The liner was all over the place. It had smudged, settled in the fine lines in the under-eye area. I looked like a person who just woke up from the sleep and walked right into the office without removing last night's make-up with those raccoon eyes. I immediately washed my face and swore to stay far away from this eyeliner, far far away.

The liner's staying power is extremely poor. Even the pencil is very fragile and the tip keeps getting smudged in the sharpener itself when you try to sharpen this pencil. The tip totally smudged on my wrist while trying to take the swatches above. 

My advice, put your money to some other good use by staying away from this eyeliner. For such a good brand and a high price that I paid for it, I expected much more from this liner. But it was a huge let down. This one gets a Thumbs down from me. As for me, I guess I will have to make peace with the fact that I now own a pencil sharpener  worth USD 16.50!!
