I am always on the look out for a good Kohl pencil/Eyeliner. If ever, I am running late and have only a couple of minutes to get ready, I just put on some Kohl, Mascara and lip balm and I am out of the door. I picked up the Clinique Kohl Shaper for eyes in shade Black Kohl. Read on to find out my views on this kohl liner.
What the brand claims it to be is that this Rich, satiny eyeliner glides on smoky or defined, bold or superfine. Triangular, ergonomic design provides precision control. Sharpener's built into cap. Never be caught with a dull point again. Ophthalmologist tested.

When I swatched this liner at the Clinique counter, I loved how smooth it felt. It glided like a dream. It was the blackest of black liner. So I instantaneously made up my mind to invest in this liner. I got excited to try it on my eyes, the next morning I put it on before going to work. In just a swipe I got the perfect line on my lower water line. The shape of the pencil is also very different than the usual liners. Its triangular whereas most other liners come in a cylindrical shaped pencil. The Sharpener which is attached to the cap of the liner comes in handy as well.
When I reached office that day in about an hour, I was shocked to see how my face looked. The liner was all over the place. It had smudged, settled in the fine lines in the under-eye area. I looked like a person who just woke up from the sleep and walked right into the office without removing last night's make-up with those raccoon eyes. I immediately washed my face and swore to stay far away from this eyeliner, far far away.
The liner's staying power is extremely poor. Even the pencil is very fragile and the tip keeps getting smudged in the sharpener itself when you try to sharpen this pencil. The tip totally smudged on my wrist while trying to take the swatches above.
My advice, put your money to some other good use by staying away from this eyeliner. For such a good brand and a high price that I paid for it, I expected much more from this liner. But it was a huge let down. This one gets a Thumbs down from me. As for me, I guess I will have to make peace with the fact that I now own a pencil sharpener worth USD 16.50!!
